How to Manage the Common Data Environment and why it matters?
Introduction The construction and infrastructure sector is the second-largest unorganized sector after the agriculture sector which is the backbone of every country. In the present world ‘Data’ is the next fuel. The AEC industry is generating a lot of data in every project but it is fragmented at multiple locations with multiple people. So the only way to collate all the data related to a project is to have a Common Data Environment(CDE). The British Standard Institute(BSI) specifies a standard known as ISO 19650 that is specifically for the construction and infrastructure sector which talks about the implementation of Building Information Modeling(BIM) in civil and engineering works and information management using BIM.
